challenge ≫ belle vista xenophile part one

As many of you know, I was computer-less for some time, however, my Mum (who is also into TS2) has kindly lent me her laptop whilst she is over for the holidays so I finally have a chance to play again! I've decided to play the Xenophilia Challenge as I won't have enough time with this computer to play with the O'Shea family.

Hi there folks. My name is Rory Bristow and I'm just a normal sim living in Belle Vista doing normal sim things.

Although, I do have a secret.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Marcus Briselby, the local Mad Scientist who was interested in having me assist him with a project he was working on. Marcus invited me over for dinner one night and explained it all to me. It was a scary prospect but it was all in the name of science so I decided to give it a whirl.

It was pretty simple, you see. Rumours had been buzzing around town that certain men of a certain age had been abducted by aliens when they used their telescopes to stargaze between 11pm and 4am. They were returned the next day with no knowledge of their experiences in Space, except for a possibly dangerous consequence to follow. Reports had been made to the police of hearing men screaming like they were in labour only three days later and small green children appearing from what seemed like out of nowhere.

Marcus wanted me to attempt to see if I could help him prove that these rumors were true. I had to visit the aliens six times and see what happened. As this is a top secret project, I am not able to have any persons in my house at all during this period of time, although if the rumors do prove to be true and I manage to give birth to a child, I will need to find a trustworthy Nanny to look after any children who might be unattended during my nocturnal absences.

Any children will be monitored in my house by a 24 hour camera feed to Marcus. They will grow up in my care and be released into society once they reach the age of twenty-one.

If these rumors are true, God help us all.

Dear Diary,

The first day of the experiment started out well. I have moved into the house that Marcus has so kindly provided me with, free of charge for the time span of the experiment. Although it is rather sandy outside, I enjoyed spending some time daydreaming about what was to happen in my future whilst the movers sorted out the inside of the house.

The house is truly beautiful. It has all a man could need to raise a family.

Of course, the first thing I did was check out the telescope, after all, this would be my line between earth and the aliens. I was pleased to know that I had already used a telescope like this at Sim State University so I knew just how to angle it to catch the green man's eyes.

As the day progressed, I got bored. I wasn't allowed to go into town for fear of my friends and family knowing what I was up to. They simply understood that I was on home rest for a large amount of time due to a health issue.

My dear old neighbor Eliza Christmas did come and knock on the door to ask if I needed any help with moving, or possibly with some of her gypsy magic. I had to pretend I wasn't home and indeed, it hurt badly.

I had few things to occupy my time on the first day. Marcus said he didn't want to leave me with too much to do, as I would be very busy with the children, however, it didn't stop me from grabbing Rod Humble as he walked past on his daily computer delivery run and grabbing the first desktop he had in his car. After all, I did need some entertainment, right?

Marcus was one step ahead, as always. He had blocked my internet access and I was only able to access certain websites of his choice. Censorship, for the children, he said. I didn't want to spend all day talking to strangers about spirit masks...

I wanted to talk about sports!

After a while, the internet just cut off completely. I gave up and started to write this journal instead.

I knew I needed the afternoon to rest, ahead of my big trip. I napped on the couch for a few unsuccessful hours - I was so nervous, I could feel the couch vibrating underneath me from my shaking.

It was finally time. I wrapped myself up warm and headed out to the telescope. I could see a green light pulsating in the night sky and that's all I can remember.

The next thing I knew, I was standing at the bottom of my stairs in my boxer shorts and I felt terribly ill.

"Marcus, I can't stop throwing up! I've tried gingersnap biscuits, ginger tea, crystalized ginger and even ginger beer and nothing is working!"

I had never felt this sick in my life. To be honest, I wasn't sure if I wanted to finish this project after all.

Suddenly, I felt a pop and my stomach expanded slightly. This was worrying. I had not expected anything so soon and I was reminded of the rumors of what would happen in three days time.

I scoured the bookshelf for any parenting books I could lay my eyes on. Nothing like this had ever been recorded before in history. I wanted to call Marcus but he had asked me only to contact him in emergencies as he was sure our phone lines were being recorded.

The next morning as I was putting the garbage out, a young lady approached me. She introduced herself as Maryanne and explained that Marcus had sent her over to give me some reassurance as to what would happen next.

As she explained that she was a 'daughter of the sky', I felt my tensions easing. Maybe this would not be as difficult or nerve wracking as I had assumed?

I invited her in to the house to share some Grilled Cheese I had made for myself but she declined, saying it would be against Marcus' rules.

"I'm sick of these rules already, Maryanne! It's not like I have ghosts in there!"

Maryanne wouldn't even think of breaking Marcus' rules, so she left me with a huff.

Later that night, after I settled into bed with a mug of hot chocolate and a good crime thriller, my stomach started making strange noises. I hopped out of bed with a jolt and realized that my stomach had expanded again. The nerves came back, this time with their friends paranoia.

I stood there glassy-eyed and thought about what kind of Father I would be.

When I woke up, all I felt like doing was cleaning my house. With only one person living in it, I thought it would not be too difficult to finish, but carrying the extra weight of a baby and with ankles the size of elephant legs, it was hard and trying work.

By the time I had finished, it was nightfall and I was experiencing painful cramps in my abdomen. I cried out, alarmed at the sensation that was occurring in my lower body. I wondered, how did women do this more than once?

I prayed with all my might that the pain would end quickly. I wanted to get this part over and done with as soon as possible but it felt like the agony lasted all night.

I had not expected more than one baby at once. I was angry that I was put under so much pressure the first time around. I had no idea what to do with one baby, let alone two of them!

I was shocked and horrified when the first baby appeared. Not only did he have skin the color of nuclear waste, but eyes as black as the devil's soul.

I named the boy child Abel. I wondered if he would fight his sibling like his biblical namesake.

Next to arrive was his sister, Leah.

I took one look at the two infants in their bedroom and promptly fell in love.
