So during a passing thunderstorm this evening, lightening struck something a little too close to the house and caused our cable box to crap out. I called "customer support" and ended up talking to their automated system. It sucked and, not to mention, didn't help the situation. I was then connected to a live person, she didn't help either. Oh, unacceptable. I'd call back and bitch until you got an appointment tomorrow and credit on your bill for downtime. Obviously, make sure your TV works. You can plug the cable directly into your TV without the box to check if it is your box or your TV that is bad. Good luck with it!!

I can watch DVDs on the TV, so the TV is fine. I'll try plugging the cable into the TV not using the box.

Well, the reason I didn't go totally ape-shit on them is we're leaving for NY tomorrow night and won't be back until Tuesday afternoon.
