le shock an update!
Wow this is the first time in about over 3 months. I feel really bad for ignoring this journal.
But really I can't think of anything really interesting to write about.
But all it did was make me realize how much i appreciate the U.s. I guess it's just a culture that I am no longer used to. The people are so conformed that it is scary. So don't think I'm criticizing the people, it's not even me saying that they are all that different. The people in China were just so not excited about life. It was't as if they were all that poorer, infact I belive some of them are so filthy rich that it is sick. It's just that no one has that innocence you can find in America anymore. Everyone is so jaded on the fact that money can buy you anything. No one speaks up about corruption or injustice, not because they are scared of the goverment or anyother propaganda that the U.S. spread about the absolutely *terrifying* (yes sarcasm) Chinese goverment, most people just can't be bothered. Everyone tries to be as inconspicuous as possible while trying to be the best in the eyes of others. This attitude just plain PISSED ME OFF. I mean really what is so good about knowing the piano or having a best hair or the most expensive shoes. Which brings also into the problem this deep loathing chinese people have for anything, well chinese. Foreigners are treated with distance but there is also this sense of envy and awe. Anything imported from other countries is instantly better than what the chinese could make. I just feel so sad that many Chinese people have no pride in themselves. Instead in their quest to become like someone else they've lost what is the most special and probably the most valuable thing that belongs to them, their chinese roots.
