So I don't know if I ever posted here about having to do practicums, but basically what they are is that as an education major I have to complete at least 15 hours of observation in a classroom, and since I'm currently taking Elementary Art Education as well as Foundations of Educatiopn, I've been doing mine in an elementary school every Monday and Friday.
Well, the hours (along with a lot of other things) were due Friday evening and I had one hour left to do, so I went in that day at 12, as I have every Friday, and found out that the students were having a Halloween parade and weren't having classes. My observation teacher told me about the parade, but said that I should come in anyway because there would still be classes for me to observe. Ok, I was mad, but I e-mailed my professor and she said that she understood and I could turn in my portfolio today after I finish my last hour. Well, this morning I went to the school at 8, like I have every week, only to find out that it's parent-teacher conferences today and tomorrow and there are no classes! So what the hell am I supposed to do? I've e-mailed my professor asking her if I can just turn it in with only 14 hours of observation and I'm waiting for her reply.
Seiously, I'm fucking pissed about this. That teacher knew that I came in every Monday and Friday but didn't bother mentioning that this past Monday and Friday there would be no classes. She also knows that walk from Mercyhurst to the Elementary school which is a half hour walk in Dreary Erie weather. I am so mad and even more worried about whether or not I'm going to pass this class because these hours are the biggest part of our grades.
