I hate Keith Olbermann. I genuinely hate him as a commentator, as a celebrity, and as a human being. I would openly laugh if he was ever found dead in his apartment some morning from anything from a murder to a drug overdose.
That being said, this is the smartest, more articulate piece he has ever given. This is the best argument for same sex marriage, I have heard in years. And while he ripped religion, he made sure to keep it about love more than about hate.
Hate was the only thing that was spewed from both the religious nuts who endorsed Prop 8. Hate was the only thing that was spewed from homosexuals who opposed Prop 8. And even afterwards, hate remains thick in the air, and I don't believe that would've been any different had Prop 8 failed.
For once, Keith Olbermann is finally giving his viewers a reason to defend him, by going against the norm of this issue and his own personal hateful norm and showing compassionate for the first time in his pathetic life.
