We started a recent surge of it. There's at least one group that goes all the way back to February. But I can safely say that we were a fully independent origination point; we were rolling along pretty well before we noticed that we weren't the first to have the idea.
It's a small world. I didn't realize how much it had taken off until a coworker I rarely talked with passed me in the lunch room and said, "Pardon me, Mr. Hussein!"
Has anyone gotten any negative feedback from the facebook admin? I went to add Hussein to my name too but was dissuaded by the rather dire warnings against "falsifying" one's name in any way shape or form. (Maybe i should change my middle name to Wuss.)
How strange. That's the first time I've ever seen anything of the sort. Goodness knows, I've had my name changed there for quite a while, as have quite a few others.
Could you send a copy of that message? Methinks someone is trying to dissuade growth of the site.

No problem, if you want to stay on the safe side. I fully expect the group will be disbanding in celebration in about 24 hours, or at least a lot of its members will remove their middle names...
