UK National Signing Choir Competition 2017

I'm currently furious.

We competed in the National Signing Choir Competition today and came LAST.

I wasn't expecting to win because we have some very new members and just haven't practiced as much as we did for Jersey.

BUT

We shouldn't have come LAST. Some of the choirs were not good at all. Lots were so damn boring. Ah well.

Have some photos of us ( Read more... )

Oh shit, I am sorry! That sucks that happened for you all! I hope next year is better.

Yep!

Another thing that made me a little sad though - is that the other choirs just don't seem to be doing anything similar to what we have in Oxford. We're doing true BSL and really exploring the emotional meanings behind the songs. We're doing Deaf theatre, not just signing songs - it's not about the English lyrics - it's about the Deaf experience of a musical performance.

When we move - we're going to lose that because no one else is doing it.

Yeah. Hanging with our team is always great fun.

And I even made some friends on some of the other teams. So that's awesome.
