I'm often frustrated by things that would I'd have immediately responded to wit enthusiasm and support ten, fifteen years ago, because I'm seeing them in a broader social context. Because I've lived in a broader social context, you know? I still recognize the need for reassurance from your peers, but I'm much more critical of things that primarily preach to the choir.

Have you heard of the proposed "BUY NO GAS" day for May 19? I have really mixed feelings about it. Great intentions but poor logic - how many people are just going to buy their gas the day before? Virtually the same amount of gas will be used. Changing what day it's bought isn't gonna cut it. It's like Buy Nothing Day.

Wow, I need to sleep.

Thanks M, I appreciate your comments. It comforting to know that as I grow older I'm not the only one who thinks like this. I wonder if everyone goes through this or just the cool people?

I also wonder why do we teach our children about puberity but no one teaches us about these other life changes?
