I'll happily presupport "In Conversation". Is it going to be another Scottish con with a name like that?

Am wondering how science items might work at In Conversation…

I really am doomed aren't I?

Yes. You are. I'm declaring a con-idea free zone around me for the next six months. Which doubtless will fall apart as early as the Tun tomorrow but it's a useful gesture nonetheless.

Welcome back to the real world!

Nearest I got to any of this was meeting up with Gillian for the first time. :o)

It was, in fact, an awesome convention! I got to...err...4 pieces of programme -- my concert, one other filk concert, the orchestra and the Hugo awards.

So. Much. Fun.

The Exhibits Hall was awesome, as was the con. Thanks for posting this.

(This post is on LJ's front page today, btw.)

I think a lot of the people complaining about the size of the site were staying in hotels at the other end of the building (where we had a lot more bedrooms than at our end), and so were having to walk the full 600m length of ExCeL several times a day, as well as walking around the convention. Sadly there are very few facilities (and probably none at all in Europe) where you have 2,000 bedrooms and 20,000 square metres of function space all in the same location.

Phil and I were at the far end and had no issues with the walking. Neither did my editor, who was at the same hotel. But we're all fairly fit and able-bodied.
