It's almost like you get so nervous that you'd rather be doing anything than that. You get that horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach and you look around at all of your competetors only to find ( Read more... )

yeah i feel that way alot. it may seem like everyone else is composed and calm, but they are probably feeling the same thing. and if they say otherwise, it is likely bullshit.

i usually get that stomach feeling right before something bad happens...and i usually shake uncontrollably when i get nervous. just ask anyone who sat by me in band.

here's what you do with the scales - just remember your starting pitch for each of those scales. you may have to count forwards or backwards. like...concert Bb on french horn starts on your F, right? that's 7 half-steps up chromatically or 4 letters up. that will be consistent from scale to scale, so if you forget the starting note, count letters or half-steps up. it might take a few seconds, but then you get into the swing of it really quickly.

just find a groove. and don't worry, nobody really practiced over the summer. except for cheuck. yeah, watch out for him, he's nerdy :p

AH! HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?! I'm so horrible at music theory. but it's always 7 half-steps up??
and i'm not even worried about cheuk, he can haveeeee first.

i think that's right for F-horn...but i would double check with cheuk (hehe) or with mr. t. just check it out...there a lot of short-cuts to remembering scales.
g'luck.

Hey! Don't worry there is always someone else out there who is worse off then you are. Can you imagine all the incoming fish that are scared shitless? Don't worry about it! You will do great! Just run over it a few times and don't freak! Kay Love ya!
