In case you haven't been around the places I've been announcing lately, I'm engaged. :) We have a date, August 4th, in Las Vegas, with only family in attendance (since that will end up being lots). And yes, we chose a suitable geeky place to have our ceremony, to be followed by a meandering drive up the California/Oregon coast for our honeymoon

Congratulations and *squeeee* on the location!

We got married in Vegas and it was a blast. It's fairly cheap to get there from anywhere, hotel rates are available in every price range and we didn't have to entertain people. We did a schedule of where we were eating meals and any places we were definitely going and then people could choose to show up or not. It worked out great. We got a great deal on a block of rooms, too.
