There are so many sites on LJ though that do not have a DW equivalent and many people (like me) rarely post there. :(
I get your feelings about the Russians. They can kindly keep out of our politics. There manipulative media outlets in European languages are poison. And so is their pushing of the extreme right. They are fighting the cold war with secret service methods. They strenghten groups and parties that weaken the state.
The russian language servers have been in Russia for a while, it was just the English language servers they were maintaining in SF. But I'm quite certain the Russian state security services had thorougly penetrated everything in the ENglish speaking part anyway.
I don't like the bit, were they have been starting to delete pro Ukraine blogs and so on. I actually do like DW better anyway, but so many people from the older days, especially authors like Grrm are very unlikely to move, so I will keep this journal here anyway.
Typical LJ isn't it. They finally start to get some users back in a big nostalgia wave, and they promptly fuck up all the goodwill by doing something douchey without bothering to explain it to users.
