highly uncharacteristic of Jack. (that's not to say this is a bad story, I like it. I just tend to see Jack as very selfish.) But he does act that way once in a while.

jack is very selfish but when push comes to shove - the man has a heart of gold.

This parallels that pivotal scene in AWE. Jack gave up immortality for Will- it's conceivable he might someday do the same for Liz.

A good man, despite himself...

he has his moments for the most part! even if it takes a heck of a lot of convincing at times, lol.

A delightful use of the prompt. 'strange and all too familiar' haha! I like that!

Jack's one of those good men who wants as few people as possible to know it. Then probably curses himself after he proves it on rare occasions. :-)

I'm sure there are days he would cheerfully kill his Jiminy Cricket. A fine representation in few words.

i agree! and it takes plenty of coaxing to get him into doing things that would benefit others and not him. or sometimes, even just a simple jack "mistake". he's a good man. even if he doesn't want to admit it. he can't help it.
