So by now most of you have heard that Bush has nominated John G.
Roberts Jr. to replace Sandra Day O'Connor; he looks like an
.
Better yet is to do your own research to find out how much of a tool he
is, and yes I did my own- and yes I found out something interesting.
Our buddy John Roberts previously served as the United States Solicitor
General, basically the highest practicing law position in the United
States Government, which serves as the defense for the Government from
prosecution from the Supreme Court, when that rarely happens. That
position is appointed by the President and basically a tit job if the
Supreme Court leans your way (in this case it does, almost all of it leans right). Anyways the point I'm trying to get to is this: The office of Solicitor General was founded in
1870,
and some traditions have been established. Whenever the Solicitor
General argues a case before the Supreme Court he continues to wear
late
19th century style dress, with striped pants, grey ascot, vest, and a cutaway
morning coat,
making him a very distinctive sight in the courtroom.
That's right- 19th century costumes ... wtf!?!?
