by moonlight i'll stalk you.
out first in the open to declare my mark, from a distance
but then fade away with only light tracks to follow,
i'll change my appearance & cover every detail.
by this light you are pale-humed-over
& by this time sweet rabbit, the wolf would have conquered.
but to toy & linger on possibilities makes me a snake & you but my mouse;
this is only one-sided for now until more marks arrive,
or until time wanes-waxes-passes-wait.
the wolf still comes out at night to seek a selected prey-
& pray for such a selection.
howling out for an overcast to break his chains & be able to hunt openly.
all the way to the rabbit's hole.
