The books in question are Carlos Castaneda's Teachings of don Juan series, which are about a anthropologist's encounters with don Juan, a Yaqui Indian sorcerer, discussing his shamanistic practices and viewpoint of all that is. Some dispute whether this "don Juan" actually existed, believing Castaneda just made the whole thing up, which may very well be the case. Still, it helped me to realize how much we create our own reality, no matter how we choose to perceive it.
