I don't know if you meant it this way but the first half of part two before they get down to business had me LMAO. I love the nearly virginal Hotch, kind of reminds you of Reid in a way, where he has the textbook knowledge but almost no idea of practical application.
I also like that Hotch thinks of Prentiss as a bitch in his own mind because if you watch the show closely she really is, which is why she's one of my favorite characters.
Wonderful story, keep up the good work.

I absolutely love that you saw humor in the first bit!! Kind of dark, bumbling humor, yes, definitely :) See, I think Hotch sidelines most everything else to give work priority, and I also think that Haley was his first (they met early on in high school, so it's totally plausible) and last...I doubt if he even had any random flings after their divorce; even after her death. Dealing with an entirely different person, a new situation, the normally confident Hotch might well be 'out of touch'.

I also like that Hotch thinks of Prentiss as a bitch in his own mind because if you watch the show closely she really is, which is why she's one of my favorite characters.

He hates her for making him feel so drawn to her - he resents that loss of control and power over his own emotions and actions. Yep, Em is a total bitch, but we love her 'cause it's just one aspect of her! She's a dark horse, just like Hotch ;)

Anyhow, my rambling aside, thank you so much for reading the fic and posting your thoughts!

LOL! Shocked is a good reaction, yes? :P See, that's what I get for plumbing the depths of my deviant mind and sharing it with the world *evil cackle*

So glad you enjoyed the fic, and thank you for R&R'ing!! I hope to write more soon...finishing my PhD in the next couple of months, then I'm free and maybe inspiration will hit again :)
