Wolf Park!

On Saturday I got to go to the Wolf Park in Battleground, IN for the first time. I have dreamed of going here for years and have never been able to. Unfortunately the weather decided to be extremely frigid, rainy and windy. This did not dampen my spirits but it did deter us from staying for the 7:30pm Howl Night. I agree with your assesment! It is a phenomenal facility. The staff are very knowledgable and they are passionate about their work!

When I went, I also was forced to miss the howl night but I intend to go back this spring.

When I went, they had a former Alpha male who used to hip check all the other wolves to assert dominance, at one point he injured his spine and lost the use of his rear legs.

Was he still around/how is he doing? He was my favorite.

I believe you are talking about Orca. Yes, he is still around although ancient in my opinion and living in a solitary enclosure. This is so sad to me because wolves/dogs/people need buddies. But his injury makes him too vulnerable to the others since he still has an Alpha personality. He is up there on my list of ones to adopt since I know he needs the company. He is by far the most beautiful... all white and noble.

Agreed. He is very regal. It had been so long since I'd been but thought he'd been either with one other or they were looking for a compatible companion. It is sad that he has to be segregated, they are all such social creatures.

I remember the neatest thing to watch was when... hrm can't remember their photographer's name, he went into the pen and was playing with them and ended up giving one of them a piggy-back ride! It was the most precious thing I've seen that doesn't relate directly to Jenna lol.
