So today I received some upsetting news, my older sister and her husband of almost 6 yrs are splitting up. My sister has talked of divorce before but i guess no one thought of it seriously, i mean shit its a semi new marriage and everyone has their problems. I know how you feel, well, kinda. I have never been close to someone getting a divorce (well...most of my friend's parents got divorced when I was a little kid...but I never really let it affect me), and my dad and his wife are getting divorced right now. It sucks big, because my dad isn't one to easily give up, but my stepmom is insane...so I guess, despite the fact that my 12 yr old bro has to go through it, I can accept it, and hope that we can find happiness in each other's company. I guess I would just suggest that you support her in her efforts, if she supports you, and try to be there for your niece and nephew the best you can. Also, if you ever need anyone to talk with..or get drunk and blubber about it with, I am always here...and since we are both Jills...it's okay. =)

Ummm i didn't have to go through the whole divorce thing till i was about 17 so i know how it is to now know how u should feel about it, however, there's prolly nothing u can say or do to u sister to make her change her mind, there's a reason why she's doing it, and if she's not happy there's not going to be much u can do about it. Considering it is her choice I would say be there for those kids the most, they are young and probably won't understand, which is probably a good thing for their sake, but if there is one thing i regret it is not being around enough for my 2 little sisters while my mom flew to other countries to screw different guys. Now both my sisters are in 2 different states and I kick my self in the ass for not spending the time with them when I had the chance. When they start school, be there to help em with their homework, take em to a playground during the summer, shoot i'd go with u I love kids. But with all craziness that would be surrounding them, they'll need a positive role model and if i were u I'd jump on ( ... )
