I totally agree -- nothing wrong with making new friends. You kind of have to, because you change and grow and part of that growth is meeting new people. I've certainly found that true -- every place I've moved to, the friends I make know a slightly different part of me.
But that old saying is true, too -- "Make new friends, but keep the old." The ones that have seen me through from the beginning 'til now are real gems.
Yeah... I'm starting to get that. The problem is that I just don't feel as comfortable with the people at work... there really aren't any women (aside from the ones that I want to sleep with that is, lol). Men are great friends... but I can't really feel close to them. Altho this one guy is very cool... we can hangout and not have it be all screwed up. Plus he's usually up for anything, I even dragged him to come and check out my bike with me. So it's good, I got one really good friend out of it at least.
it's impossible to make good friends at work! just kidding...that's where i found you. ;)
i've been trying not to make new friends here at ElCo just because i know i'll be leaving soonish, and i'd rather not get too attached to anyone and then have to leave them behind. yes, i know it's silly because i can always email them but still. another reason is, the less friends i have, the less potential for them to upset me by dying, or doing dumb things with their lives.
