I just got told to apply for the fellowship grant I really wanted! It's a genomics teaching grant apparently the grant program coordinator talked to my program coordinator who tells me they're impressed with my (voluntary) participation in the program associated with the training grant and with my taking the killer genomics course they run. Yay for you. What a great feeling to have others comment favorably on your mad skills. And you couldn't ask for a better way to become an expert in something than to teach it. Very awesome.

oops, I meant "training grant". I'm not up for teaching genomics yet. Training grants are for PhD students, often in the sciences, to give us a salary, to encourage training in science.
