I don't know if this attention is what I ought to be doing. But since I don't believe in anything but self-chosen purpose, witnessing creation seems a good one. And though my monkey mind sometimes/often steals me away in fear and worry, I feel waist-deep in the world often enough.

This is beautiful. And your post reminds me that I want to try this more often. Have you ever considered having a pen-pal? It would be neat to exchange letters with someone based around sharing observations of the beauty one has observed.

My life has been too full of pain and frustration lately. And I'm tired of distracting myself or trying to make myself feel better with the computer. My long-distance friend recently offered to exchange letters with me and I like this concept a lot.

Joe Meek was a buddha in his own way, and he said this, regarding recording:

"If it sounds right, it is right."

With that simple statement, he erased decades of anal-retentive, stale recording techniques, and helped pave the way for a lot of the most beautiful music that's ever happened. Granted, he also went really crazy later from being gay in the 50s, but his genius remains.

Just a thought.
