I know that mushroom! You're right - he needed some color, and you did a beautiful job :)

I'm around, but summer school is currently eating up my life. It ends mid-July, though. I'd love to hang out when we both have a minute to spare :)

:) thanks! Virtually all my art "evolves" like that, where I try not to plan very much ahead. It works because no matter where the piece goes, there are always good choices to make to bring it towards awesomeness. It's a great way to work.

Nice work! I would have said "iterates" - looks like you're computing a fractal. :)

So awesome! You're making me think here...it would be super cool to make some public art pieces for tortuga. Did you create the shroom from scratch? Maybe we can hold a public art workshop and you can give us tips? :)

the shroom is a chainsaw sculpture from a tree trunk. It was there long before me. And... gee. I'm really no expert. Next time I visit we *could* try to make a big ol' paper mache sculpture --or a few. like this: http://www.cockeyed.com/incredible/satan/satan1.html (see all 3 pages). Alternately, if there are any surfaces to paisley... I'd be all over that dude.
