I am sending a care package to my mom's husband, Albert. He is in Iraq now. I'm not sure what to send! My mom said nothing that will melt. Will sugar babies melt? My husband is a candy freak so we have lots of bags of candy around that I have taken some out of. I went through the dvds and also picked some up at yard sales. Any suggestions ( Read more... )

Beef jerky, any favorite canned foods (with the pop top type lids) - as most have access to microwaves. A letter or card, CDs (record your own), gum, magazines, newspapers from home (even if it's old news), lip balm, foot powder, baby wipes, hard candy (chocolate will melt) - such as red hots, peppermints, etc., canned nuts, paperbacks or crossword/puzzle books.

Take advantage of the flat rate boxes ($9.80 now). They're great because you can fill them up with weighty stuff (like the canned stuff) and only pay one flat price. I used to stuff them as full as I could get them. Once I shipped a box that was more thn 9lbs (clam chowder soup and bags of hard candy)

There is nothing I can add to words_spoken's list. She sent many, many care packages to her hubby while he was in Iraq so she has the scoop!

Lots of stuff to DO and lots of stuff he might be missing from home.
