I can't say I'm against it. That would be entirely hypocritical. But I also can't say that I'm a fan of all the ultra- testosterony boys getting all argumentive ( Read more... )

We aren't trying to change anyones opinion, but the people who are supportive of it, will help us tell the school the homophobia will not be tolerated. and no, it won't change anybody who is unwilling to be changed. its also going to send a message to gay people letting them know that there are people ou there in thier situation, that they are not alone. I thought you would have been more supportive. my friends dont even care.

Kels i love you.

I had fun with you on Friday,..you and your hempness.

I never realized how completly awesome you are Ms. kelsey Frank.

I don't know if people mean ignorance. It's just lack of understanding. I am open to people having their own opinions and such. I am a big supporter cause without it the world would have no diversity, good or bad. I think people can use it unintentionally to catergarize a group when they are frustrated when people aren't suseptible to something they are passionate about. Comprendes? or not. I know i have unfortuniyly used it because i am very passionare about this topic and when people are so close minded i can't even comprehend it.

What the GSA is trying to accomplish is to merely get everyone to respect those people who are gay or bisexual and in doing so create a safe enviroment for them; free of the harassment that they currently face. Though the Matthew Shepherd murder may be an extreme case any sort of harassment, intimidation, or discrimination is unaceptable and those students who are lesbian, gay, or bisexual face these sort of things on a daily basis and that is illegal. According to the Declaration of Independence all men are created equal and by the laws of this country you cannot treat someone different based on their sexual orientation. As for Maine being one of the most liberal states in the country I disagree. Maine is the second least diverse state in the union, it does not have a large city to speak of, and most families that live in maine have done so for generations thus limiting their experiences with other cultures, races, and ways of thinking. I think that ( ... )
