1000 Miles
Sooo.
I've been pretty vague on what I was up to. So I'll tell ya now that it's been done.
I went to San Fransisco! :o Why? To visit winterblueart and his friend. They're so awesome! Okay, so I'll start off on how it went.
So after work on Sunday, I got home around 8pm. I packed my things, and slept for 3 hours. Left around 12:30am
It was quiet outside, rather windy. I mention the wind because it was like one of those dramatic moments where I had to realize my quest. So yeah.. washed up my car a little and took the freeway. It was a really awesome drive. The world is really a different place at night, seeing mountains at night only sparked my imagination. The stars were out lighting up my path to San Fransisco.
I don't know how I did it but I only stopped once and that was to put gas in my car. I made it within 5.5 hours. I was speeding down the highway at 80MPHs so go figure. x)
So yeah, after a bit of traffic, crossing the 92W(?) bridge, more traffic I finally made it to my destination by 6am.
I IM Winter that I was there. I fell asleep in my car. To my surprise, Winter and his friend surprised me. :o The way I got out of my car must have been hilarious, my car alarm went out and I kind of stumbled as I got out of my car. Shook their hands and pretty much started talking. Things just clicked, talked as if we were online. lol His friend, Marco, is hilarious!! His insanity is contagious! So watch out everyone else! XD
Did boring stuff, like.. ate at iHop. Then I drove us all to the downtown area. Tried to go on the Golden Gate Bridge but got lost. XD In the meantime, we still had a lot of fun just driving around. Even got lost in private residential area. There are still people who are filthy rich!! ;P Anyway, eventually we make it to the bridge. Even went on some cliff and saw the whole view of the bridge. Good times.
Then went to the Exploritorium or whatever it's called. Messed around there, had more great laughs.
Drove some more. We ended up going to the beach. Spent several hours there, swimming, playing catch and whatnot. Hah. It was really awesome, I had the time of my life!
After we got washed away by the waves we headed back to the hotels. Freshened up and had dinner. My god, Macro is so hilarious! XD So pretty much we had our fun.
Chilled out after dinner. I shown Winter my recent drawings, and sketches I have. We ended up sketching in each other's sketchbooks. :]
It was late, so I called it a night.
Morning came by eventually. I filled up my tank and met up the two. Pretty much woke them up. I felt like I had to considering because Hynpotic Dragon & Byzil we're on their way and they weren't prepared. So after a little while, some doodles, and breakfast. The two were waiting at the lobby and we all pretty much introduced ourselves.
Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to hang out with them. :[ I was only thinking about getting home in time for work so I left around noon.
Yeah, my heart felt torn. To meet such an awesome group, hang out like best buds would do, and then to have it suddenly end was depressing. It's like AC all over again, or CF, or any con for that matter, you know? You meet some really awesome people, have the time of your life and before you know it, it's all over. Yeah... So.. of course I would drive home listening to all sorts of songs, and sing along. I felt slightly better.
Until my tire gave way.
At first I just noticed a small shake which I thought it was unusual. Suddenly my car REALLY shakes up and rattles throughout the freeway. It was
rather scary, I had to immediately pull over and check it out. I find the tire like this.
Yeah. So I call AAA and then it just occured to me. I have no idea where the hell I was. And it didn't help that I was really close to the freeway itself so I almost got hit by a 16 wheeler. It was really fucking close. So I had to continue driving on until I reached a 76 gas station just a mile away. That was interesting.
As I pulled up I couldn't help but think of the movie, 2 Fast 2 Furious or something cause saw a huge group and all sorts of modded cars. And I just drove in with a busted up tire. :[ Yeah.. so AAA is on hold. I park. I find out I'm in city called Tracey. AAA told me they'd send someone within 30minutes and did.
It got a whole lot worse. I took my spare tire out and it really needed air otherwise I couldn't drive it. How lucky of me to conviently have my tire bust open right near a gas station, right? I'm tellin' you, I feel protected from a certain drake. :p Sure, it's probably my imagination but it's my imagination.
So yeah.. Pretty much the guy was about to ask me if I was going to drive to LA with that tire. I'm like 340 miles away from LA. lol So Yeah.. I tell the guy, "Yeah, I know, I know but it's all I got". So I fill the tire with air and head off the freeway with the spare. Man.. you have no idea how scary that shit is. If I hit a bump the actual metal rim hits the pavement.
And guess how crazy I am ?
Yeah, I managed to hit speeds like that, with a spare tire. So dangerous.. Don't try it. Seriously. I was already thinking about what type of maneuvers to do should my car loose control 'n shit. I was that worried about going home and get to work. Heh. The ironic thing is that I ended up calling out anyways because I wouldn't make it in time. That sucks.. I could have spent more time getting to know Hypno & Byzil, and hang out with Winter and Marco some more, you know?
Oh well...
Also, it looks like I'm going to see Harry Potter tonight with my brother. I reserved $120 aside for gas but it turns out that to drive to SF it costs me $50. Even cheaper if only I stopped at a cheaper gas station. So, I'm rather surprised! I paid about $40 to get back here which is awesome cause now I know how to get to SF, SJ and how much it costs, tips and tricks, do's and don'ts, etc.Do the math dance, spent about $90~100 bucks to get there and back. <3
Anyway, I better get going. Knowing how hardcore HP folks are around here, I should head off now and find parking. Yadda yadda, details details.
Pretty much that's how my past days went. And hey Marco, Winter, thank you so much. I honestly cannot thank you enough. I shall reward you with arts in the future! It's the least I can do at this point.
