So yeah, My computer (New Laptop as of a week ago) got virus. A nasty, bitchy, makes-you-reformat-your-computer virus that most anti-virus programs can't kill. In fact I haven't found any that will. On top of that, all of the instructions for manually removing it require that you reboot in safe mode, which it won't let me do. And it also

AVG antivirus seems to work well enogh

avast! is freeware and auto updates whenever there's a new virus definition file. it's the only thing I use, and I have yet to have a problem. as for getting rid of what you have now, try: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ it's free as well, and it's net based so the virus doesn't get a chance to infect it.
