LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your dark purple nails. What brand is that?

And the rainbow colored roses? I didn't know they could come in those.

I think I would prefer violet/purple ones. Jun is my bias.

Squee. Tumblr and Arashi is perfect together. And flailing too!

The purple nails are Nfu Oh 117. Nfu Oh is a Korean brand which is probably best known for its killer flakies and holos, though I hear the holos are a bit uneven bottle by bottle.

The cool thing about this polish is that indoors, it's a very dark, almost elegant true neutral purple, leaning just a tad toward the blue. Out in the sun, it's a bit brighter and has blue and a bit of pink microshimmer in direct light. So it's a bit more conservative inside and a bit more sassy outside, which works well for me ^_^v

I had never heard of the rainbow roses, either! But I looked them up and it seems that at least with FTD, you can even custom order a set with whichever colors you want (they'll dye them, essentially. So if you wanted purple, lavender and pink for Matsufabulosity, you could do that ^_^v

Tumblr was MADE for fandom&hearts

I will search for this nail polish and hope to put it on one day. Maybe put it on my xmas wishlist?XD

I think your nail polish looks better than the one I put on the MatsuJun month.

I'm glad you like it! The only US-licensed seller is www.fabuloustreet.com. I recommend checking out swatches of their polishes in general, because they are freaking amazing, seriously.

And I will have to go look at your Matsujun mani ^_^v Today I saw nail decals in pink and purple leopard skin and I was inspired--may have to buy!

Sparkly! And what's that fluffy thing you're holding, anyway? At first I thought it was part of the cat, but it looks synthetic.

Arrgh, grading. I did the HEL exams this evening for a few hours. The average was roughly between 80 and 85, as it turned out, so I think it was a fair exam. I had a couple above 95, and several below 65 -- the dude who decided to skip a bunch of classes while we did ME (about 60% of the exam) got a 56. And it turns out that it's pretty had to identify dialects when you think "withowten" is a verb and don't realize that "makes," "luves," and "byndes" are. Sigh. I can't make them come to class, and I did recommend a grammar review book for those who don't know parts of speech.

And now I should probably read up on EModE, but I seem to be on the LJ instead. Meh.

It's a stuffed Shaun the Sheep that Zan sent me! I'm amused at the thought of calling him 'Shun the sheep' because that's how I just mistyped it!

so--my students took the exam on Wednesday--is it totally terrible if I don't givethem back until this Wed? We have way too much to do in class tomorrow to stop to talk about he exam, plus I haven't finished grading them, but probably could if I really applied myself in the morning,

There was much sparkly this weekend--and then I ran into one of my students in those nails ^^;;

Yikes on the grammar illiteracy :/ not that I'm surprised, but . . .

Sadly, we're now done with medieval for the semester in my seminar >_< On to the Early Modern :P Which is fine, I know, but . . . meh.

I think a week is fine -- I hurried because I need to turn in midterm grades for some of them by Tuesday. I also need to figure out how to calculate the comp grades, since they've really only had one paper so far, but lots of little "check" grades that I ought to count in some way just to be fair. A task for tomorrow, I guess.

I also need to come up with Hamlet lectures for later in the week, and read Tamburlaine. So much work, and none of it non-class. Oh, and I also got a notice from the dept. that, since Shax is a core class, I need to "document the learning outcomes" for the class. This is Republican bullshit from our governor who wants "accountability," but the language is all so vague that I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to submit paper assignments or copies of my lectures or something else. I guess I should ask my overworked coordinator. But basically, more work.

Cool! I think we need to get midterm grades in by the end of the week or something? But I should probably check. I don't think I have anyone legitimately in danger of failing at the moment so I'm not that concerned--we only have to turn in Ds and Fs ( ... )

SHAUN!!!! or Shun! ^_~ HE is yours after all to call, after all a rose by any other ... uhmmm you know what I mean

And speaking of roses ... WOW! They are beyond beautiful, they are beyond gorgeous! I have never seen the like!

Also I don't mean to sound ridiculously clueless, especially since I use a lot of nail polish too. But but what is removal by foil? If I have rainbow nails, especially with the glitter. I soak a wad of cotton wool quite thoroughly with polish remover, then just press it down to let the liquid loosen the polish and the slowly polish the polish off.

Anyway that's a by the by and nothing to do with squee ... which is what this post is all about. ^_^

So SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE squee is a uneversal word and it unifies us all.

LOVE! Lots of it.

Hee! I was just amused by my mistype ^^ Traditionally, we name our sheep plushies after literary characters, so we have Beatrice, Miss Bennett, Marlowe, and so on. I'll have to think about Shun/Shaun for a bit, but I suspect Shun might linger ^_^v

Aren't they gorgeous??? I was so shocked! And While the boy had told me I'd received flowers, he didn't give me any other info, as I was teaching until 7:30. So when I got home, I was greeted by these! They're living on my dining table right now. The Arashi flowers the Boy got me are on the coffee table in the living room ^_^v

The foil method is much like what you're discussing, but you use acetone remover or pure acetone (which is what I use), soack the cotton, and then wrap the cotton around the finger with a little foil dunce cap and leave it there for 5-10 minutes and then rub off the polish--it helps with really stubborn glitter removal which can take forever. Earlier this week, I tried the non-foil version on my birthday nails,and it just wasn't quite strong enough, so I went ( ... )

And those nails! I meant to also say they are beautiful. I'm rather enamored by the Ohno nail! Also ... Dome colours for the win.

Thanks!

I love the 5 color nails ^_^v I remember trying to make sure I could get 5 in each major color scheme--pastels, jewel, blackened, glitters, shimmers, etc.

Now I just am omnivorous in my nail polish ^^;

Oooh, nursing does kind of preclude polish, doesn't it? My mother in law is a nurse ^_^v

I think the petals are dyed, looking at some of the leaves. The Boy suggested that they likely split the stems into several different water bowls which include dye (like the dyed water celery experiments we did as children), and then after the flowers are dyed, they cut the stems above the split mark. Just a theory though.
