the "abbreviated" 60 minutes this evening was dynamite. andy rooney hit his usual home run with a commentary on cigarettes. and the piece about ricky williams was fascinating, he is so unbelievably selfish and phony, i loved it

Ed Bradley's doing a segment on kids that take a pledge not to have sex until marriage. An MC and a bunch of kids screaming "SEX IS GREAT!!!!!!!" before the MC says really quickly "inthecontextofmarriage". A man's explaning that when you take the pledge you put a ring on, and on your wedding night you take it off and say to your spouse, "I waited for you" or something stupid like that. And the usual propaganda, e.g. "there's no such thing as safe sex", "sex education doesn't work", "condoms don't protect you". Of course one of the guys behind this is basing this on the Bible. Fortunately Bradley's giving some statistics that show what bs this is.

oh my god, LAME! this country is nuts. i love how we can turn on the tv and see SEXXXXX and freely access pornography etc, but there are also people who think this completely opposite way.

oh, you skipped the little italy street fair? i called my sister earlier(she lives there) and she said the guy outside across the street is selling the "How You Doin'?" t-shirts and it was super loud.

yeah, the street fairs are nuts. i went to two before when i was here on college visits, the columbus day one and some other saint day fair. they're all the same, lots of food and noise and junk for sale, haha.
