interesting. what is the context of this quote? was barthes referring to the self or to a lover or an archetype?

a lover. it's from this piece of his about love and distance and desire. the boyf sent me this because he's leaving for germany tomorrow and march is going to be a long month and we had a strange argument/dicussion about pretty much everything that barthes touches on here ( ... )

I am not so much spinning into that central hole in the wind tunnel, where I would come to say I love you because I love you. I see two states of being. And a whole. I see no longer the love for self but the self which becomes the love. I do not believe my universe to be contained within my mind as an exclusive illusion of self. It was mean of blank to tell me so. I am expansive and everchanging, I can be contained within a singular essance or feeling, and yet I may expound to any form of my choosing.
