i was looking through my picture folders on my computer (i have a habit of carrying my camera pretty much everywhere- consequently, i get some pretty interesting shots), and i noticed that i am pretty adept at making everyone look good except for myself. and actually, i don't think i 'make them look good' persay, but the better i am accquainted ( Read more... )

I disagree. You used to be pretty talented at capturing great webcam pics of yourself. I've got some great mud mask shots. ...simply divine!

Regarding your ability to take good shots of others, I think you nailed the reason, but it still takes something to cause the "intimacy" of the moment come across. I have another friend that can do that as well - he can do it by sniping shots during conversations. The subject usually notices after the photo has already been taken, so the result is of a person "in the moment."

i want the mud mask shots. :)

some of the best photos i have taken are candids- usually when people are laughing at something someone else has said, or something.
