Day 232
I think the last time I wrote an actual journal entry like this was the day Roxas left the Organization. Looking back at it all I can't say this is how I imagined things would end up being like. Despite a promise I didn't think I'd ever get this much time with Roxas again. I wouldn't say things were back to being normal, but it's almost as it is. My existence should long be faded yet I sit on the rooftop eating ice cream with Roxas often. Saix would laugh at me if I called myself lucky.

It'd be nice to at least see the beach once again, but I suppose the lake will have to suffice.

September 9th will be Roxas' one year anniversary in Luceti. I have the date memorized.

Things are changing. Summer is almost over, too.

Do you know why the leaves change color in the fall?

Leaves get their green color from chlorophyll, a pigment found in plant leaves that enables them to process sunlight. Fall's shorter days and cooler temperatures cause the chlorophyll to move from the leaves to the branches, trunk, and roots, and the yellow and orange pigments that are always present become visible.

Most interesting are leaves that turn red, because this color is the result of the active synthesis of anthocyanin pigments just before the leaves fall from the trees. In these leaves, the actual shades of red are the consequences of the amounts of anthocyanin, the retention of carotenoids (or even a little chlorophyll). Anthocyanin and chlorophyll produce brownish colors. Anthocyanins and carotenoids produce orange hues. In some plants the color production is quite uniform, as in hobblebush or blueberry. In other plants, leaves vary between individuals (as sugar maples) or even dramatically within an individual (as red maples), or even within a single leaf (red maples).

...

Roxas? We should go to the lake.
