Sep 28, 2010 20:52

[As soon as Axel opens his journal and gets it to record he has to dash away suddenly. You see, when one of your best friends is tiny...er, things get just a liiittle more complicated. To the other residence of House 14, you might notice the house is in a state of... well. Mess. Xion is a handful and both Roxas and Axel have no idea what they're ( Read more... )

Advice on taking care of a small child? Perhaps I could help, as I had to help my mother with taking care of my younger sisters many years ago and I've had my fair share of dealing with young children.

Yeah? Anything would help, man. She's-

[I'm sure you can hear Roxas yelling followed by him falling coming through Axel's jounal right now.]

A handful.

[He can hear that completely and is a bit surprised by all the noise.]

I'd say try and calm her down first, that's key if you want her to listen to you.

She's mostly calm, just energetic. I wouldn't even know how to calm her down anyway.

[ anyone listening to Axel's voice post might be able to hear a certain five year old giggling in the background, too.

GUYS SHE HAS A WOODEN SPOON! GUYS THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER, GUYS LOOK, LOOK IT'S A SPOON.

LOOK.

A SPOON.

AND I HAVE IT!

she may or may not also be running around and waving it like it's a sword, too. this is actually because it feels familiar to do so -- like she should have something like this, a weapon she swings around -- but her five year old mind doesn't care to really puzzle it out. she's got a spoon and it's really great so she's going to run around and tap things with it. not whack, she's too polite for that, but she does bump into things and disturb chairs and, well, make something of a mess.

someone ought to chase her down, at least. ]

[And anybody listening to Axel's post might hear an older boy chasing after the five year old, running around the house after her] Xion, come back here with that! I needed it! [Chaaaase. Except she bumped a chair just enough in his way for it to be too late to change direct, and for him to trip over it suddenly, landing hard on his knees]

[ NO IT'S MY SPOON AND YOU CAN'T HAVE IT DX IT'S THE GREATEST SPOON EVER AND I GET TO KEEP IT OKAY!!! she just sticks her tongue out at him when she sneaks a look over her shoulder.

but then he trips, and she stops immediately, because oh god that was her fault. instantly she drops the spoon and runs back to him, at a loss but visibly upset ]

Roxas! Roxas okay? I sorry...

[He could have used the plastic spoon, but no, he had to have the wooden one. He groans a little from his place on the ground, eventually looking up at her.]

Yeah...m'okay. [Still not moving though because Xion has worn him out since they brought her home.]

Hopefully the place isn't too wrecked.

[A beat.]

But if it is, I wouldn't mind helping out. I'm sure a few things could be picked up, anyway.

[...what. Riku volunteering to be a maid? Pfft yes.]

Well you probably could give us a hand picking up.

I hear that locking them in a closet is remarkably effective.

Is that so? You can also abandon them easily enough. It's probably difficult to tie them down if you're too impatient to wait for them to sleep, but glue or tape might work anyway.

[Oh great. Now THAT'S a sight right there. See the icon? Sora's totally doing that.]

Do I need to come home? Or take her out or something?

Nah. You just keep doing what you were doing. I've got it handled.

[...mostly! Both you and Riku can go take a hike. 8|]

Are you sure? 'Cause I don't mind, you know.

[HEY at least he's not teasing you. He's just... unintentionally implying that you're insanely incapable of handling the situation.]

[...What. "Axel" and "kids" don't really go together too well.]
