she may or may not also be running around and waving it like it's a sword, too. this is actually because it feels familiar to do so -- like she should have something like this, a weapon she swings around -- but her five year old mind doesn't care to really puzzle it out. she's got a spoon and it's really great so she's going to run around and tap things with it. not whack, she's too polite for that, but she does bump into things and disturb chairs and, well, make something of a mess.
