Jun Knew
Jun knew.
Jun knew because she'd seen it happen.
She'd seen it happen to friends and strangers alike, and now, as she sat on the cold hard bench-top in her families kitchen, she was witnessing it happen to her brother.
Every second of every day a boy and girl would meet, and every once in a while, one of these boys would fall hard into lust with one of these girls.
The boy would be cute in his own way, sweet and bouncy too. The girl however, would be calm, polite, quiet, and to be quite frank, drop-dead-gorgeous. Head over heals the young man would fall, whilst the lady would remain indifferent, either not quite noticing or not quite caring.
In most cases, Jun found that the girl had her eyes set upon someone else, but how all women loved attention of this degree! So she'd take the infatuated boy along for the ride, where he'd meet her every whim and feed her every desire. Sometimes the girl would even date the boy, more-or-less out of pity.
And that's what had happened here.
Her brother had fallen so harshly into lust with this Hikari-girl that he'd lost a lot of himself. Anything he could do to impress her? Consider it done.
Years had passed with Hikari's eyes firmly glued to that blonde-haired boy from her brothers class, but Daisuke waited. He was sure that at some stage, she'd notice him. She'd see who truly loved her!
Of course, eventually the girl took matters into her own hands and asked Takeru out herself. He replied with a simple no, appologising profusely like the darling child he was. Daisuke however, took this as his moment to shine, approaching quietly, he took her hand, said that she was too good for him, and perhaps she'd like to date Daisuke instead. She looked up, eyes dull, and shrugged out a murmered 'yes'.
Months had passed since then, and Hikari had picked up the pieces of her shattered heart and kept them locked up, having no intention to waste them on Daisuke. She used him, and kept him at an arms length.
Jun knew her brother wouldn't mind for now.
But he would eventually.
And when Hikari destroyed his heart, cracked it straight down the middle causing all affection to leak from the middle?
Well, Jun would be there. She'd fill her sisterly role, and mend his broken heart.
He'd be needing it.
After all, Jun knew.
Jun knew because she'd seen it happen.
