double physics followed by double maths - can you feel the joy?

at break, we had the raffle to see who gets to go to Peru, as there are 10 of us and 7 places. So as it transpires, I will be in Dublin in July and not in Peru. Which, to be honest, sucks muchly because I was meant to go last year and the whole thing got ( Read more... )

Last year, the school was organising a trip to Peru. For 10 people. To work on a project in a little village called Villa El Salvador. And then to go sightseeing for a few days afterwards. So 10 of us put our names down for it and that was that. Only, the project got suspended pending restructuring so we couldn't go.

This year the project is up and running again, so the school is reorganising. The hitch is that there's only accomodation for 7. So there's a raffle to see who can go. Which was today.

But the mildly annoying part is, of the 10 who put their names down, 6 are very involved in fund raising for that project and such, and 4 are not. And all of the 4 people who never really got involved with the project are going, which leaves 3 people who were very committed to it staying.

And I mean, fair is fair, a raffle's a raffle, but man I wanted to go to Peru!

Oh, god, raffles when really saying look-you-people-weren't-that-involved-so-you-don't-get-to-go-and-that's-actually-fair - yup, annoying. Blah. Have a hug or twenty. *hugs*
