hello world, hope you're listening

Doubt it's made world news, but the Queensland floods have been pretty horrific. I've never really been a part of a natural disaster before, and it's kind of terrifying, even if I'm on the fringes. Our house has flooded twice so far. Only a few inches of water downstairs(we live on a big arse hill, but the fact that we have a pool - one that I've ( Read more... )

Lol, omg, I honestly don't know the hows/whys of it. I take pride in the fact that only one of them is set during season 2? Plus, two are femslash and one's gen with a focus on female characters. I think it's my rage at their treatment of their female characters starting to take a written form.

fair enough! i'd probably get behind some of what you've written, tbh.

Haha, thank you! I'm kind of concerned about the gen one tbh though, because it's a friendship fic between Quinn and Rachel set during season 1 where Quinn miscarries instead of carrying her pregnancy to term. =/ I actually am quite fond of what I've written, but, having said that, I've never written anything like it before so I am a little worried about it as a fic.

Aw, sweetheart! It's actually the main headline worldwide! *snugs you* Glad you're holding up so far, and that you'll have someone coming over because being alone sounds pretty sucky right now. Stay safe, okay? <3

Also, I would totally read Ke$ha/Taylor Swift fic.

Thanks, and I'm trying to stay safe? It's kind of hard still. But I'm almost surprised it made international news? Idk! Normally Australian disasters are only made a big deal of if it's NSW or Victoria. I'm honestly kind of flattered. People have been really supportive. It's pretty huge though, I guess. Apparently the area flooded is the size of France and Germany combined, which makes sense, given Qld is a stupidly large state, but also is mostly horrific ( ... )

Keep safe hon. I've seen news on Twitter but not as much on the TV :(

Your writing is always amazing and I love the idea of Jim and Spock visiting Arthur and Merlin. Especially since the writers of Merlin have talked about it not being a historical land per say (yeah since you can't get our history right) so it leaves it open for Camelot being another planet or dimension or anything.

Thanks, and yeah, I was kind of surprised any of it was making it to international news. This is kind of self-deprecating lol, and it's not meant that way, it's just I don't think international bodies pay much attention unless it's in NSW or Victoria. The devastation is pretty massive, but I'm also blown away by the people in my state who've seen so much in natural disasters over the last twenty years that they're able to take this in their stride. The news is full of people cleaning up broken homes, but also of people like, fishing and drinking lol. Also, given the flood is the size of France & Germany combined, the fact that there was an inland tsunami in Towoomba and that this has been going on for a week now, I think the fact that the death toll is currently at 8 people is incredibly lucky ( ... )
