The Doctor leans against the controls, his sonic screwdriver in one hand, and a long thin wire in the other.
“They’re blue.” He murmurs quietly to himself, as his mind tries to find her face, “They’re light…no dark blue.”
He has to sit down; he never thought there would come the day when he couldn’t remember the color of her eyes. It had been a long time since he had last seen her, but in all that time he thought of her everyday, he could conjure up her voice in a heartbeat.
Now, he could not recall the exact shade of her eyes.
A hundred years had past since he had said goodbye to her, both of them standing in her kitchen in Chiswick, and it had been a good sixty years since he had watched them place her into the ground.
He remembers that she smelled of vanilla with a hint cherry blossoms, and there had been a bold, rich flavor to her lips.
And her eyes…
“Blue…with adventure and love and brilliance in them.” The Doctor tells himself with a sad smile, before he gets up and begins to work once more.
