Everything ought to go on, business as usual, but this journal is now

And now because I've never actually done this...
All About Anthony J. Crowley in Fandom
Crawly was the serpent in the garden of Eden who tempted Eve. He's darn proud of this fact. He'll tell you he's evil, and essentially he is, but really good and evil are just names assigned to sides in the great cosmic chess game (that is actually more like very complicated solitaire in his opinion). Crowley also claims responsibility for:
The M25 Motorway
Telephone interferance (in one specific instance in the book, AND once in Fandom)
Welsh-language television
Most television in general...especially game shows
Value-added tax
Manchester, England
Glasgow, Scotland
The widespread use of record-keeping
Funding the Witchfinder Army
Explaining the helicopter to Leonardo daVinci
Terrifying his houseplants
Googling yourself
Intelligent design
And he will more or less claim responsibility for anything annoying, insidious, or odious. Like sprung rhythm poetry. Or standing on line.
Crowley looks like a very hot Johnny Depp shaped man, but sports a pair of very fine black feathered wings that he does unfurl on occasion. He has wickedly sharp teeth, a long forked tongue, and his eyes have slit pupils like a snake or a cat unless he puts effort into making them more human. Generally he simply gets around it by wearing dark glasses...even when he dun't need to. He's a demon and he has all the wonderful powers that come along with that, but the ones he uses generally are for self-gratifying things...like manifesting a nice cup of tea or banishing wine spilled in haste. He smokes nearly non stop, and always looks quite natty.
He's clever and cunning and he's an evil bastard. He strives to pick and annoy...and the more the better. He's all for the mass marketing of ill will and the most strife with the least effort is how he prefers to do things. If you choose to interact one on one with him, prepare to be charmed, lied to, insulted, twisted, hurt, and always with the very best manners.
The key to Crowley is he likes the world. He likes people. He sees infinite potential in them all, and although it's his job to corrupt he is secretly glad when anyone resists his wiles.
Fandom Differences from canon
Because of who he is, he's far too powerful a character for this game canonically. I've made some changes and yet tried to stay true to Gaiman and Pratchet's characterization.
Crowley snarks a lot, but pretty much does nothing. He's lazy, see. He likes to be comfortable. Furthermore, now that his friend Aziraphale has left town, he's trying to do the decent thing and pick up the slack...so he may just deal out a bit of divine inspiration along with his infinite wickedness because he didn't so much fall as saunter vaguely downward. He was, at one time, an angel afterall.
His touch is warm-to-burning, and can under certain circumstances deliver one or more of the seven deadly sins. THIS NEEDS TO BE CLEARED WITH BOTH THE ADMINS AND ME AHEAD OF TIME. Just because he *can* do all kinds of wonderful, horrible stuff doesn't mean he will.
And yes, ask me about my post-it noted copy of Good Omens. I know just what he can and can't do.
Because I've taken away so many talents from the demon, it's only fair I give him some other things to make up the difference. I've borrowed bits and pieces from other fallen angel canon to fill in gaps. I've stuck mostly to Gaiman's Sandman series and American Gods, as well as films like The Prophesy, Constantine, The Devil's Advocate, etc. My hope is nothing is glaringly obvious as to be OOC and he blends into one smooth, flash, lazy bastard.
In Fandom he has a *special* relationship with Kiki. He's really horrible to her, calls her names, mistreats her and embarasses her...but deep down he adores her even if he won't admit it unless he's singing.
He also conned Phoebe into signing a document in blood. It wasn't written in English, but it's basically a child-bride agreement. This is for a plot thing, so if you want to fret about that, go ahead. It changes nothing. NOTHING I say...Crowley is drunk on his power...or not, you know. He might just be messing with her and her soulmate.
Crowley likes witches and whores, but he's basically a misogynist. It's sometimes subtle, sometimes overt, and never never the mun's opinion...as is most of the stuff that comes out of Crowley ICly.
I'm totally approachable both ICly and OOCly, so if you have questions, comments, compliments or criticisms please please please talk to me. I'm on AIM as profcregg and MSN as prof_cregg@hotmail.com and I love to go meta.
