[He messed up, he was stupid, and he knows that. He's not even sure what he's going to say, but he has to talk to Roy, has to beg for forgiveness and reassure Roy he loved him and make things right
( Read more... )
[There are certain things Roy does when he's upset. He hits things, sharpens arrows, or does housework. When Wally calls he's sharpening the kitchen knives with a determined look on his face.
It takes a deep breath and a second to calm himself to put the knives in the knife rack. He's angry enough to hit something though he knows that that something would never be Wally.]
Yeah, give me a minute.
[There was booze somewhere in the apartment, he was sure, he could... No, that was stupider than wondering if he could score smack on the street.
Roy shakes it off and walks into the rest of the apartment to find Wally]
[The problem with speed is sometimes it kicked in when you least wanted it, like when you were bored and wished time would go faster only accomplishing the opposite, or like now, making the wait for Roy to appear drag on longer and longer, the dread building with every passing second.
He has to fight down the irrational urge to run, run far away and let the speed take his worries away. But he can't do that, he can't run. Not from Roy. And Roy deserves better. Roy deserves a lot better than Wally.
He pushes down the nervous vibrating he didn't realize was coursing through his body as the sound of footsteps approaches, and forces himself to breath when he spots the source of the footsteps.]
Roy, I...[Oh god he doesn't know what to say, there's so much he could say, but all of it sounds wrong.] I slept with Dick.
[He knows the other man knows, but he still needs to say it himself.]
[Roy's never had the problem of super-speed, but he's never been good at waiting no matter how much he trained for it. There was a reason his first codename was 'Speedy'.
Still, Roy knows how to hurt, and right now he's pissed enough that he wants to hurt Wally. Just a little. Even if it's just making him wait.]
I know.
[Roy leans against the edge of a bookcase, the sharp point digs into his hip.]
I don't... blame you for it.
[They got into this thing as a threesome, right? It was never just about one or the other... Roy misses Dick too.]
[Roy doesn't need to try to make Wally hurt. Just the fact that Roy is angry, and Wally can tell he's angry, is enough to send waves of regret and self-loathing through him.
The last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt Roy, and it's tearing him apart that he did.
He steps forward one step, then stops himself, clenching his fists tightly and digging his nails into his palm.]
You should. I...I shouldn't have. I...missed Dick, and he was so...
[He shakes his head and slumps in on himself, avoiding looking at Roy.] I could never say no to either of you.
