My parrot wrote a drabble
Title: Bright, Shiny Things

Author's Notes: If xie_xie_xie's dog, Rebel, can write a drabble, so can Mango. Um, there are several, not-so-subtle bird references because he's a parrot.
“Watch the paint!” Brian yelled when the movers reached the landing. The mirror had been too large for the bedroom balcony doors.
“He’s been squawking like that all day,” Justin whispered, pulling Daphne out of the foyer before Brian spotted them.
Safely out back, they settled poolside to eat their lunch.
“Thanks for going to Finch’s,” Justin said, mouth full of his favorite sandwich - smoked quail on sunflower seed bread.
Daphne nodded and swallowed. “Is it really going on the ceiling?”
“He likes to watch.”
“Like you don’t.”
Justin ducked his head and took another bite to hide his smile.
