The not-so-secret concert

Alfie showed up early to the Room of Requirement to get everything set up. He told the room the band needed somewhere to play and he got what they needed. The space was big and had a very industrial feel to it.

He set up a table for drinks and snacks and a table for Lunar Howl merchandise.

Bolly hadn't bothered trying to sneak out and instead just made all his dormmates come with him. He was wearing his Lunar Howl t-shirt, but he had an eye on the merchandise table so he could get different colours. With Sofie's help and a bit of practice, they'd managed to automate a lot of the effects and were able to run all the rest from a single control board, which meant Bolly didn't have to spend the whole show backstage-not that he would have minded, backstagers were cool-and could help himself to snacks. Which he was doing.

"You need some more shirts, don't you? We have pretty much every color," Blue grinned at him. "Thanks for your help, by the way."

"I need four green ones and a blue one for Auggie," Bolly said, hugging Blue. "But you gotta let me pay for at least three of those, because they're for my dormmates."

It's entirely probable that Naz, Baz, and Carter do not know about this and would not want them if they did, but that is not going to stop or slow Bolly down even slightly.

"You sounded awesome, by the way. And Aiden! And Arlo! And Alfie! I didn't know Alfie was singing lead for real, that was really cool."

"I guess you can pay for some of them," Blue doesn't like that. He doesn't like charging his friends and family for stuff.

He took a sip of his water, "Alfie wasn't sure he was going to. Drumming and singing lead is really hard. He wasn't sure he'd be ready but he was awesome. So was Arlo and Aiden. And Lottie was brilliant. It was a great night during everyone."

Blue opened as a lead singer Born for This and then went into Higher. Alfie took the lead on Unstoppable. Blue sang lead on Under the Pressure, Can You Hear Me Now, Stronger and In My Bones. Arlo took the lead in Glory, Legend, Fighter and Victorious. Aiden sang lead on two covers (One from Riley Bones and the other from Ryan Bones). Blue closed the show with Survivor.

The songs Blue wrote (All of them but the covers) were at least a little insprired by his moms songs. That's why Blue was wearing an old Furies shirt with his mum's face on it with the sleeves cut off. He started the show wearing the leather jacket Sofie got him but ended up taking off because it got too hot.

He felt good when they got off stage. They did their best and he felt like most of the crowd enjoyed it. The rush was amazing!

"I gotta start hoarding my signed shit now, huh? Before you get sick of signatures," she hands him a water, there's no way his throat isn't killing him after all that.

Blue takes it gratefully, opens it and takes a sip, "Thanks. That was...that was epic," he laughed. He hugs her, "You were amazing too. I loved your set."

She gives him an extra hard squeeze, "It was so good. Your vibes were awesome, I'm already thinking of new stuff."

Arlo had way more fun performing at the concert than he did at the talent show. After their set he hopped off stage and got a bottle of water. He took a few sips and then poked some over his head, it was hot on stage. "That was awesome!" He said. He couldn't sit, he couldn't stop moving. He was full of adrenaline.

"It really was," Alfie said. "We were on fire!"

High-Five! "We were. I want to do that again."

"We definitely have to do this again!" Alfie said. "You know as long as we don't get caught."

Lottie had known going in that the concert would need a bit of strategy in choosing her set list. Fully matching the vibe of Lunar Howl wasn't going to happen, she didn’t consider it much and set out to do her own thing. The Easter holiday had been absolutely vital and very productive for her, five backing tracks since she didn’t have a band and she'd decided full dictatorial control over her own sound was actually really, really cool anyway.
In the end she'd leaned into the idea of giving the people something they'd enjoy, leaving the anger and the questions and promethian allusions at home to deliver radio-play worthy singles. She'd get her complicated shit on the albums someday, today she wanted to be fun and for people to tell her they liked it.
She opened with a cover, Them Changes' bassline sexy and steady, setting the tone with pulsing lights. Her set was decidedly not epileptic-friendly, I Already Like You was the first of her run of originals and looked like Lottie: flashing pink and turqoise tied to the heartbeat of her

“Dòmhnall was asking after you,” Aubrey said by way of hello. “You made an impression there.”

"I got him in trouble cause I can't not incite bassist revolution," she says it like it's something that just naturally happens around her, like an atmospheric effect and not her choice at all, "Good band though!"

“They’re a great band. I think they’d love to have you if you weren’t out here, killing it solo,” he grinned. “But you know eventually somebody in the band has to play bass, right? You can’t make them all leads."

Aiden had a great time on stage but he was struggling after the show. Talking to people and signing things felt weird. This shy thing was not going to work with performing. Having a beer would make this easier but he'll settle for a quiet corner and some snacks.

"I didn't know you were going to sing," Fox said. "You never told me."

"I always sing," he said. "Backup."
