So a couple months ago we got this outrageous water bill with our rent statement. $140. FOR WATER. That we didn't even use. We went to the office and talked to them about it, and they said they'd get it sorted with the water company and get back to us about it, and to not worry about it until then ( Read more... )

Thankfully we've got until the 5th to get this straightened out and hopefully we can get something worked out. My brother is going to be talking to them because I just can't do it without losing my cool right now.

We're hoping to move out in the spring. But we have to find someone to take over our trailer before we can move out. We own the home, but it's too old to legally move it to another trailer park.

This could just be me being ignorant bc I've never had to pay utilities, but I don't understand why a water bill should affect your living situation. Shouldn't they just...shut off the water you don't use, like if you let an electricity/phone bill go delinquent? It's not like you're renting from the water company...

It's because we pay our water bill through our trailer park. And because we're late on paying the water bill and thus have had 3 late fees in a 12 month period and thus we're up for eviction even though we've been paying rent and we only haven't paid the water bill because they said not to until they talked to the water company about it. So it's just this big rage inducing pile of bullshit.
