“Ed probably can’t make it, Sophie made him promise that he would take her and Clark to her mother’s house.” Wordy informed the team.

“He got his ass whooped, didn’t he?” Spike grinned, showing off those dimples. “Well, that means I’ll bunk with…,” He tapped the table to get everyone’s attention. “Constable Lewis- Young! Congratulations you’ve won a weekend with me! Oh wait, that doesn’t sound right….”

Having already used to his friend’s sense of humor, Lew simply shook his head. Jules looked at the room arrangement written on the whiteboard. “Since Shelley’s can’t come, Sarge and Wordy can share a room.”

“Only one bed, guys,” Spike noted, studying the brochure. “It’s king size though, with gorgeous red and black floral pattern bedding set and a Van Gogh painting on the wall. The only thing missing is a canopy. You sure it’s not a honeymoon suite?”

“Spike would take up ¾ of the bed,” Lew complained, shooting Spike a look. “Quite understandable, have you seen his bed at home? You can’t even move around without falling.”

Spike scowled, throwing the marker to his buddy. “Well, I’m sorry for not sleeping like you, laying so very still your mom would go screaming thinking you’re dead.”

“Sorry buddy, don’t live with my mother.”

Sam snorted, giving Spike a pat on the back. “He got you, man.”

“How about Jules? I’m sure she’s man enough to share a room with us,” Wordy joked, turning to look at the only female on the team. “She has 4 brothers.”

“But Jules is a starfish.” Sam automatically replied from behind the newspaper. When he folded them down, four pairs of eyes were staring at him, one belonged to a very stunned and pissed Julianna Callaghan. If she didn’t sit on the other side of the table, she would have already bruised him bad.

Oops. Awesome, Braddock.

Spike broke the silence. “Samtastic… how did you know that?”

Sam shrugged, returning Spike’s stare for a long ten seconds. “Isn’t she? I mean look at her. Do you think she can actually share? Four brothers. The youngest tends to get a bit selfish. She would be fighting tooth and nail to get the largest space. You’d be lucky if she didn’t make you sleep on the couch. Badass Jules.”

Wordy chuckled, Lew and Spike shared a glance while Jules was giving him the finger. Fortunately for him, the alarm went off right that second. ‘Hot call, team one, hot call.’

“Let’s gear up.”

“Just so you know, words can’t even describe how dead you’d be when I’m done with you,” Jules hissed when she was walking out of the briefing room with him tagging near.

“I was being creative!” Sam whispered back. “Or you’d rather have me said, oh yes, I know that because I’ve been sleepin-,”

Her death glare shut him up from voicing any more thoughts.

"You can sleep on the couch tonight,” Jules said decisively before joining in the others. “Oh, and that’s me being creative.”
