So, I was rudely awoken this morning by my boss calling to say my car had been broken into. He'd pulled in to park next to me (I'd parked in a car park near work overnight) and two scruffy-looking (probably homeless) guys ran away from the car. He noticed they'd smashed the passenger side front window and were rooting around inside

Glad that it looks like its going to work out (woo for insurance-footed car cleaning!). Somebody broke into my car last fall, but seeing as all I had were little bits of paper in my center console and Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars on cassette all they walked away with was frustration. I wouldn't have even known they'd broken in if they hadn't moved my driver's seat all the way forward and left behind a Sprite bottle.

It was weird, however, when I found the message he'd scrawled in Japanese on my rear-view mirror with his finger several months later when the weather got cold enough to fog up and show the finger-marks. No idea what it says, probably some death threat because I don't keep CDs in the car.

Now that's some good karma. I don't think it's wrong to feel sorry for the desparate, but it's also wrong if you don't feel a bit smug with yourself.

Occasionally Karma can do a nice thing; well done on the stereo replacement and free fixing/cleaning...
