Book Meme Time!

The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicise those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE, add an strikeout the books you read but didn't like.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people ( Read more... )

bah! did out the list all tagged up, posted then realised i'd done it with php-board tags >.<

EPIC FAIL!

Nevertheless: around 29-30.

It saddens me when I look back to just how much I used to read back in school and how little I read nowadays... I'd really like to just take a couple of days off work one week and spend it all in Reading library chewing my way through book after book.

But thats really not going to happen :(

I highly recommend "58. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time - Mark Haddon"

I read Watership Down when I was 10. I'd recommend it but I do need to read it again to properly understand it! I also really want to read War and Peace because it's set in the 'right' period of history for me :) I'd love to read it in the original Russian but I fear that'll take me years!

Most of the books I read are salvaged from my dad's bookshelf or charity shops. I go for books with pretty/intriguing covers and light enough to carry on my commute. Some of my best finds have been oddities like this and this.

We're never going to read all the books they tell us to so booklists be damned I say!
