Hey, Narvin. I never knew that Time Lords could lift things with their minds.

And what was that thing about Rassilon getting rid of magic? I mean, you explained it, but I thought now you could give me a little clearer explanation, yeah?

We...can't. Usually. Legend has it that telekinesis used to be moderately common, but that skill was lost. These days the game pieces in Sepulchasm are specially designed to be receptive to psychic will so any half-trained telepath can float them. The game is old, though, and it's presumed that in the ancient times the psychic-receptive design wasn't necessary.

...I feel bad about the loss of magic, though. I mean, maybe it's because my magic's so important to me, but...I mean, even without Pythia, couldn't there still have been magic?

[Under other circumstances, Narvin might have scoffed and ranted about the superiority of science. But he's fond of Drake. And his skills, whatever physics of his universe allows them, certainly are useful.]

The Sisterhood of Karn--the remnants of the Pythia's priesthood--still practice what they call magic. And rumours speak of pockets of magic still existing in the universe. So it's perhaps not wholly gone.

Yeah, and it's more special when only a few people can do it anyway.

So why does it have to be magic versus science anyway? Why can't you find ways to combine both?
