Calling All Nerds

On the way to work, I had a memory pop in my head of a computer game I played when I was a kid. You played Greek heroes, and had to duplicate their tasks from Mythology. I don't remember too much structure, just running around Greece, so Bellerophon could defeat the Stygian Cranes, and Hercules could meet the Sphinx ( Read more... )

I have always wanted to play a game like that, but one that stuck to canon, and such that you actually had to know a bit about the tasks in order to complete them.

I think this was it. I don't remember an instruction manual, and you sure as hell didn't have in game direction. Maybe I didn't get far because I had Theseus killing the Erymanthian (sp?) Boar.

I remember that, when Hercules is born, the first thing you do is kill a snake. Which is appropriate

Yeah. I would totally suck at that game now, though.
Did they have the part where you clean the stables by diverting the river? For some reason I expect no.

There actually was an area (this was not structured, you could do any task in any order) with the stables, I may or may not have figured that one out.

I know the Sphinx part was broken, when it asked for an answer, nothing on the keyboard worked, and you either hit return until it accepted a wrong answer and killed you, or rebooted.
