So, it begins several months ago, when I realized I had started to hate my job, and it was starting to make me bitter the way my last job did. My friend said they had a position opening at his company, which would be more/better work, pay more, and be 3 miles from my house. I applied, and got denied.
Then I got a call from a headhunter. My friend Sam had referred them to me, they had a position at a small company, it was all the things I liked about my current job, none of the things I hated, and a lot of the things I was missing. I went in for the interview, and I can honestly say I rocked it. The technical section was supposed to take an hour, I'm not sure why, it took me about ten minutes. They said they were going to interview another candidate the next day, and call me at 5 to let me know how things stood, but I had an offer by noon.
There's one... thing? Catch? Snag? Bonus? Blessing? Whatever you want to call it, the job is in Seattle. So I'm moving.
As the plan currently stands, I'm leaving in a U-Haul on Labor Day, heading west. I wanted to make it out to see you kids on the East Coast, but that's not happening right now, maybe in the future. For those still in the mitten, if you want to hang out before I leave, drop me a line.
