So I gave in, and I started playing Dragon Age 2.
I've never actually played a non-lego video game before, as I don't have the hand-eye coordination for it. But holy fuck, after watching Mary plow through it, I had to give it a try.
And I am loving it.
And that's all! I had more, but I skyped my mom and feels_like_fire for like, an hour, and forgot most of it. AND NOW PIE!

- Warrior class is the fucking bomb. My Hawke is also seriously badass, and I have a hell of a crush on her.
- I could give less of a fuck about Anders, tbh. Mary romanced him the first playthrough, and I liked him enough to be interested by the character, but the more I see of him in my own game, the more I find him to be a hypocritical twat. I'll keep him in the party for the healing and the occasional bout of hilarious hypocrisy, but that's about it.
- I don't think I'll be hooking up with Fenris. He's marginally less whingy than Anders, and is useful enough, but eeeeegh. I think he looks too much like my Hawke, and a little bit girly. Which is hilarious when considering....
- I'm going to hit Isabella like a ton of bricks. I didn't like her that much when I watched Mary play, she was a little too 'Lawl my ass is out and I sleep around, LOOK HOW APPEALING I AM'. But for some reason, having her in my party has changed my opinion of her. Maybe it's the banter with Varric when she's in my party, and the reassurance that she's actually a total BAMF as well.
- MERRIL/VARRIC FOR LIFE.
- Oh god, how I wish Aveline was a romance option. She's so fierce I can't even stand it.
- I love hitting things with a massive sword.
