I think its interesting that anyone who would say (based on scientific studies) that a fetus doesn't feel pain until after 20 weeks of conception that they are automatically a baby-killer ( Read more... )

they dont want to hear any other side but their own, just like the other side, at least the ones in the media's eye, are completely uncompromising to their side as well. thus why nothing gets resolved in this country... no one likes to make compromise.

ofcourse, we don't listen to their side either. mostly because its faith-based more than science-based though.

yea, which makes it even more difficult to reason with someone. because they blindly believe in something, they will not stray from it. there's no proof that a fetus could feel pain within 20 months, even if it could it's not like it wouldn't be dead shortly after anyway ( ... )

you bring a good point about what you said about proof. that is what pisses me off about the whole state of Kansas evolution debate. they want to change the definition of science to be "any explanation for why something happens" (paraphrasing ofcourse). so if you want to say that wind comes from god breathing, even though it really happens because of a change in air pressure, then that is a scientific theory.
